FEBRUARY 16--Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA) has announced a new series of free machine-vision seminars exclusively for pharmaceutical-industry professionals involved with packaging operations. This new series of seminars called "Applying Machine Vision to Pharmaceutical Packaging" is made up of half-day events that show how easy it is to integrate, validate, maintain, and use the latest generation of machine-vision systems to ensure label accuracy, package integrity, and product traceability.

Participants will see the full range of low-cost vision sensors and complete PC vision systems from Cognex in live demonstrations and will walk away with an understanding of how easy it is to implement compliant vision systems. Additionally, attendees will learn how machine vision can help to

* Read RSS, Data Matrix, and 2-D codes
* Ensure product traceability
* Verify date and lot codes
* Verify label presence and skew
* Validate dosage accuracy
* Verify fill level
* Comply with 21 CFR Part 11 provisions
* Inspect blister packs.


The seminars will be held from March through April in Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Illinois, North Carolina, Ontario, and Puerto Rico.
