Datalogic Scanning signs contract with Poste Italiane

NOVEMBER 16, 2007--Datalogic Scanning (Eugene, OR, USA) won a public tender issued by Poste Italiane for the supply of n. 30,000 barcode readers.

NOVEMBER 16, 2007--Datalogic Scanning (Eugene, OR, USA; www.scanning.datalogic.com/), a wholly owned subsidiary of Datalogic SpA, won a public tender issued by Poste Italiane for the supply of n. 30,000 barcode readers, which will be used to automate post offices all over Italy. The contract is worth more than €3.5 million. Datalogic Scanning will supply more than 10,000 barcode readers by the end of 2007, and the rest by the end of 2008.

The winning solution consists of the new scanner with omnidirectional imaging technology, Magellan 1000i, a next-generation product that uses an intuitive system to reduce personnel scanning training time and to speed up over-the-counter service resulting in reliable and fast postal services. The Magellan 1000i belongs to the Magellan family of scanners.
