SEPTEMBER 13--Symagery (Ottawa, Canada; www.symagery.com) has announced its SX3000C, possibly the first color megapixel imager for the AIDC industry. The SX3000C high-resolution engine enables the capture of color images and both color and conventional barcodes. Its high-quality, high-resolution 1.3-Mpixel image resolution is ideal for OEMs that require color capabilities within their information capture products, including scanners and kiosks.

This latest offering from Symagery enables a variety of applications, including public safety and security, claims management, inventory/asset management, and counterfeit/fraud prevention. For example, insurance examiners inspecting damaged vehicles would be able to photograph them using the color engine in this scanning device. Delivery services could both scan a package when delivered and also create a color photograph of the goods if refused because of damage. Additionally, kiosks could incorporate the SX3000C to capture and validate identification and to record color photographic records of transactions.

"We've always prided ourselves on offering OEMs the most rugged and highest-resolution image-based systems," said Ron Caines, president and CEO, Symagery. The SX3000C now provides our customers with capabilities that will enable them to develop even more highly differentiated applications."

Symagery is a provider of advanced image reader systems for the automatic identification and data-capture industry. It sells exclusively to original equipment manufacturers.
