Analogic Corp. (Peabody, MA) has formed a wholly owned subsidiary named International Security Systems Corp. Drawing upon Analogic`s experience in the medical-imaging field, the new company will design, engineer, and manufacture for OEMs a range of x-ray, magnetic-resonance, and spectroscopic electronic and mechanical systems and assemblies capable of detecting explosives, narcotics, money, or other objects of interest. . . . Representing 2100 member companies, the Electronic Industries Association has changed its name to the Electronic Industries Alliance (EIA; Arlington, VA). Its goals are to serve the entire US electronics industry, including other electronics-related associations; broaden its scope to present a more powerful presence in Washington, DC, affairs; expand its industry representation in domestic and global markets; and augment its standards, specifications, trade show, and market research activities.
