JUNE 5-eMagin (Hopewell Junction, NY; www.emagin.com) microdisplay is reportedly the world's first and only single-chip color video OLED microdisplay and embedded controller for advanced virtual imaging. Built directly on an integrated circuit, eMagin's active-matrix OLED SVGA+ (852 x 3 x 600 color pixels) microdisplay successfully combines the benefits of OLED and silicon integration, providing users with an efficient and cost-effective microdisplay solution for near-to-eye applications. The SVGA+ display provides an integrated analog interface microdisplay solution. The integrated circuit accepts dc-coupled R, G, and B inputs with separate external vertical and horizontal synchronization inputs, in accordance with the VESA and VSIS standard. eMagin's OLED microdisplays provide high brightness and resolution, wide temperature operating ranges, shock resistance, and wide viewing angles allowing ease of viewing for long periods of time.

eMagin is working with original equipment manufacturer suppliers to integrate microdisplays and optics into products such as wearable computers, wireless Internet devices and mobile phones, medical microsurgery headsets, and other emerging consumer applications. The company's microdisplays have been selected by the US Army and US Air Force programs, such as Land Warrior and Integrated Panoramic Night Vision Goggles, for both land and avionics-based helmet-mount display programs.
