Cognex receives $400,000 order for DataMan hand-held readers

JUNE 15, 2007--Cognex (Natick, MA, USA; www.cognex.com), supplier of machine-vision sensors and systems, has received the largest single order to date for its DataMan hand-held ID readers. The purchase, valued at more than $400,000, was made by a provider of direct-part-marking (DPM) equipment used to make identifying marks directly on the surfaces of products. Cognex's customer will sell its DPM equipment together with Cognex's DataMan ID readers to companies in the semiconductor and electronics industries, which will use the system to identify and track containers for storing and transporting components.
