Profile your measurements in 3-D

Nov. 1, 1996
RS2200 Ranger is a three-dimensional (3-D) profile-measurement system consisting of a smart optical sensor and active illumination from a laser. In operation, range data are acquired using a triangulation measurement method. The scene is illuminated with a laser creating a sheet of light. The two-dimensional optical sensor views the scene at an angle different from the illumination angle and creates a range profile of the measured object. The range camera communicates with a PC via an adapter

The two-dimensional optical sensor views the scene at an angle different from the illumination angle and creates a range profile of the measured object. The range camera communicates with a PC via an adapter board. Software in the PC consists of a library of C routines that systems integrators can use to build 3-D measurement applications.
