Focal-plane array seeks IR

Designed for infrared applications, the AE181 staring InSb focal-plane array is a 640 ¥ 486, antireflection-coated device with 25-µm pitch pixels. In operation, all pixels are multiplexed to four voltage mode outputs and integrate simultaneously in full-frame snapshot mode or as interlaced fields. Maximum frame rate is 100 MHz. Featuring a quantum efficiency of greater than 80%, the device operates in the 2- to 5 µm spectral region. Integration time is set by on-chip logic and is controllable from 83 µs to 8.3 ms for 60-Hz interlaced operation. Amber, 5756 Thornwood Drive, Goleta, CA 93117; (805) 692-1200.
