    EMC Corp. (Hopkinton, MA; www.emc.com), the leading provider of enterprise storage systems, has agreed to acquire Data General Corp. (Westboro, MA; www.dg.com), the supplier of CLARiiOn midrange storage systems, AviiON servers, and Intel-based processor systems, for approximately $1.1 billion.
