Worldwide sales of semiconductors reached $11.21 billion in June 1999, rising 13.6% over the June 1998 figures, as reported by the Semiconductor Industry Association . The Asia Pacific and Japan markets headed this upturn with increases of 22.7% and 20.0%, respectively; the US market grew 11.8%.
