Crosspoint switch targets digital video

Capable of operating at data rates exceeding 1.4-Gbit/s NRZ per channel, the CLC018 is an 8 X 8 crosspoint switch designed for serial digital video systems. Meeting the SMPTE 259M standard for serial data transmission, the IC has fully differential signal paths and jitter of less than 100 ps. Because of the CLC018`s nonblocking architecture, any input can be connected to any output, and any input can be connected to any or all outputs. In addition, each output can be individually disabled and set to a high-impedance state, allowing the IC to be used in large switch arrays. With the ability to operate from either single 5-V or dual ±5-V supplies, the IC features 250-ps output edge speeds and consumes 850 mW.
