Blue Rinse redo

Thanks for your Blue Rinse Group editorial (Vision Systems Design, Dec. 2007, p. 56) and especially the comments on the lack of vision equipment on packaging lines. I was well aware of that years ago. A major reason why machinery manufacturers are reluctant to offer machine-vision accessories is that they want their customers to believe that their machines never make mistakes because any fault is caused by something else in the process. Not only will these companies not offer machine-vision products, but they will actively try to thwart sales to their customers by suppliers such as us. Therefore, I strongly suggest that machine-vision companies avoid shows such as Pack Expo.
