Processor card expands memory bandwidth

The Excaliber daughtercard contains four PowerPC 604e processors and uses the 320-Mbyte/s SKYchannel to connect to the motherboard. It is available on SKYbolt II 6U and 9U VME application accelerators, the SKYstation II desktop accelerator, and the SKYpack embedded system. Up to 256 VME boards can be connected in a single SKYchannel system, enabling up to 1024 daughtercards, with 4096 processors, to form a distributed shared-memory architecture.
