Smart cameras focus on machine vision The VC series of industrial smart cameras serve as complete machine-vision systems that include 8 Mbytes of RAM, 2 Mbytes of Flash EPROM, and a digital-signal processor. Measuring 120 ¥ 50 ¥ 35 mm and weighing 250 g, the cameras provide four 12- to 24-V inputs and four 150-mA outputs, all optically isolated, a serial RS-232 interface, CCIR video output, and pixel-identical sensor readout. Shuttering speeds run from 1/100,000 to 20 s. CCD sensors furnish up to 782 ¥ 582-pixel resolution, which permits measurements to 1 mm.
