    The Society for Information Display has given its 1997 Display of the Year Award for excellence in electronic information display to joint recipients---Fujitsu Ltd. (Kawasaki, Japan) and NEC Corp. (Kawasaki, Japan)---for the development and initial commercialization of the 42-in. color plasma-display panel. The winner of the 1997 Display Product of the Year Award is Clarity Visual Systems (Wilsonville, OR) for its line of LCD rear-projection point-of-purchase displays.
