Japan`s Ministry of International Trade and Industry has given its 32nd Annual Minister`s Top Prize to Canon Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) for the development of its "High-Speed Flat-Panel Display Optical Exposure Equipment by a Synchronized Scanning Method" into its Mirror Projection Aligner MPA-5000. Japan`s Ministry of International Trade and Industry has given its 32nd Annual Minister`s Top Prize to Canon Inc. (Santa Clara, CA) for the development of its "High-Speed Flat-Panel Display Optical Exposure Equipment by a Synchronized Scanning Method" into its Mirror Projection Aligner MPA-5000. This aligner can expose a plate size of 830 ¥ 650 mm, allowing the manufacture of nine 12-in. laptop displays or four 19-in.-diagonal displays per plate and resulting in increased manufacturing productivity of 60% to 150%.
