TFT-LCD chipset includes timing controller and column driver Aimed for use in SVGA/XGA TFT LCD panels, the FPD63310 universal interface timing controller and LMC7532 column driver ICs incorporate reduced swing differential signals (RSDSs) that replace TTL signals on the data bus for reduced power consumption and EMI levels. Housed in a tape chip package with dual leads, the timing controller provides data buffering and generates control signals for the FPD and, with RSDS transmitters, drives the column drivers at 130 Mbit/s with a 65-MHz clock. Housed in a 100-pin thin quad flatpack, the column driver converts 18-bit digital data into analog voltages for the selectable 300 or 309 columns used in SVGA or XGA systems. The timing controller sells for $6.50 in quantities of 10,000; the column driver costs $8.50 in quantities of 1000.
