MARCH 28--Cantronic Systems (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada), a designer, manufacturer, and marketer in IR night-vision technology, has announced David Shaw's appointment as the chairman of the board of directors, a position he has held as of March 4, 2005. "Shaw was a director of Silent Witness until it was sold in 2003 to Honeywell. His experience and reputable credentials are exactly what Cantronic needs," said company president/CEO James Zahn.
In 1999, Shaw became a director of Silent Witness Enterprises Ltd. and chair of the Audit Committee. With his former experience in a publicly listed company dealing with security technology, he will be a strong force in pushing Cantronic forward.
He has been further recognized for his accomplishments as a lead author of "Canadian Cases in Financial Management," as well as coauthoring a series of research studies on Canada's capital markets for the Toronto Stock Exchange.
