Dalsa posts record revenue and profit in fourth quarter and FY2004

JANUARY 28--DALSA Corporation (Waterloo, ON, Canada) has reported record revenues of $47.9 million in the fourth-quarter 2004 and record net income of $6.3 million or $0.37 per share, diluted.

JANUARY 28--DALSA Corporation (Waterloo, ON, Canada) has reported record revenues of $47.9 million in the fourth-quarter 2004 and record net income of $6.3 million or $0.37 per share, diluted. For the year ended December 31, 2004, total revenue was $168.6 million, with net income of $19.8 million or $1.16 per share, diluted.

"These results further demonstrate DALSA's ability to deliver strong financial performance, even in a challenging business environment," said Savvas Chamberlain. "We continue to be successful because of our strong technology and our ability to target high growth markets and then execute well. Moving forward, I am confident that we can continue to grow our business profitably in 2005."

In the fourth quarter, the digital imaging business posted revenues of $31.7 million, up 31.7% from the fourth quarter of 2003 and up 27% from the third quarter of this year. For the year, the digital imaging business generated $102.8 million in revenue, a 24% increase over 2003. Net income was $4.5 million in the fourth quarter, up 79.3% compared to the same period last year and up 138% from the third quarter of 2004.
