Miniature megapixel imager, Quadrus MINI, is a small (1.8 x 2.10 x 1 in., less than 2 oz), imager that offers autofocus for industrial product identification. Previously, an imager's hardware had to be physically calibrated for each new symbol distance. When using the MINI, the operator only plugs it in. Designed for applications in electronics manufacturing, Quadrus MINI reads both linear barcodes and 2-D codes such as Data Matrix directly marked on boards and components. The imager can be embedded inside pick-and-place robotic equipment or mounted at the entrance and exit points of workcells for process verification.
