Datalogic executive receives lifetime achievement award for automatic identification technologies

Datalogic has announced that Matt Schler, Vice President New Technologies, has received the prestigious Richard Dilling Award from AIM, the Association forAutomatic Identification and Mobility.

The award is considered the automatic identification anddata capture industry’s highest recognition for lifetime achievements that have led to industry growth through applications and new technological developments. Schler joined Datalogic, which at the time was Spectra-Physics, 38 years ago, and currently leads the New Technologies Team at Datalogic.

"Matt’s leadership and passion is highly visible, with a career that closely parallels the evolution of retail scanning from the first bar code scanner to today’s multi-sensor solutions," said Romano Volta, CEO and Chairman at Datalogic in a press release. "He is a leader who has taken full advantage of technical knowledge and a real proximity to customers in order to create innovative solutions that meet retail industry needs, often acting as a pioneer, with courage, intellectual honesty, and undisputed leadership."

Schler’s accomplishments at Datalogic include the Magellan scanner product family (single plane, multi-plane, and the fully digitalMagellan 9800i scanner) and an Automated Scanning platform (JadeX7portal scanner).

"It is an honor to be recognized with this award by such a distinguished association as AIM," said Schler. "Over the years with Datalogic, I have had the opportunity to work with many wonderful people in this industry and thank them all for being part of my achievement."
