San Diego County Sheriff's Department orders 12 additional live-scan systems

MARCH 4--Visionics Corp. (Minnetonka, MN, and Jersey City, NJ; www.ec-central.org) has received a new order from the San Diego County, CA, Sheriff's Department for 11 1133S Tenprinter and one FingerPrinter CMS live-scan fingerprint systems.

MARCH 4--Visionics Corp. (Minnetonka, MN, and Jersey City, NJ; www.ec-central.org) has received a new order from the San Diego County, CA, Sheriff's Department (SDSD) for 11 1133S Tenprinter and one FingerPrinter CMS live-scan fingerprint systems. The initial value of the order including equipment and maintenance is approximately $500,000.

Teresa Knoell, CAL-ID administrator at the department, said, "The live-scan systems are used to confirm the identity of subjects as they move through the criminal justice system. By implementing state-of-the-art equipment, we are adding new features, improving processing times, and maintaining the close integration with our other law-enforcement information systems."

The 1133S Tenprinter and FingerPrinter CMS are integrated live-scan management systems that capture, print, and transmit fingerprints electronically. In this case, the systems capture fingerprints of subjects at the time of booking and The AFIS then returns background check information to the site.
