Adept Technology to host regional technology briefings
NOVEMBER 7--Adept Technology Inc. (San Jose, CA), a manufacturer of intelligent production-automation solutions for the electronics, fiberoptics, telecommunications, and semiconductor industries, has planned three regional technology briefings to showcase the first implementation of its SmartServo distributed motion-control architecture and the first implementation on an Adept SCARA robot. The events will be held in Southbury, CT, on November 13, 2002, in Cincinnati, OH, on February 20, 2003, and in Livermore, CA, on March 5, 2003.
Each event will include a technology overview by Adept executives and a sneak preview of Adept's distributed motion-control architecture modeled as a self-contained display in an Adept SmartCobra 600 assembly robot. The display model will consist of an Adept Cobra 600 SCARA robot, with a complete controller embedded in the body of the robot. A new graphical programming language for Adept products will also be previewed. Additional demonstrations will include Adept's SmartAxis linear modules and Adept sMotion and new Adept s600 and Adept s800 SCARA robots. Registration for the events is required and can be found online at www.adept.com.
The new self-contained Adept SmartServo control architecture for the company's Adept Cobra robot will include a four-channel version of its SmartAmplifier product, used in the company's Adept SmartAxis product line. The Adept SmartServo robot control architecture will run a coordinated motion version of Adept's Micro V+ factory-hardened real-time OS and programming language and will support full PC connectivity via an ActiveX library.
