DECEMBER 5---Bernard M. Gordon, chairman of the board and CEO of Analogic Corporation (Peabody, MA; www.analogic.com), has announced that the company has received additional orders for its EXplosive Assessment Computed Tomography (EXACT) systems from L-3 Communications' Security and Detection Systems division. The EXACT is the "heart" of L-3's eXaminer 3DX 6000, a certified explosives-detection system that is being purchased by the US Transportation Security Administration to be installed at major airports across the USA.

The order from L-3 calls for the delivery of an additional 75 EXACT units for foreign and other anticipated orders. These units will be delivered at a rate of approximately 18 to 20 systems per month during the first four months of 2003. Earlier this year, Analogic had received, in accord with a blanket order for 1000 systems, firm orders for 425 systems for delivery by year's end. The company is on schedule to deliver these units on or before December 31, 2002.

Analogic Corporation is a designer and manufacturer of advanced health and security systems and subsystems sold to OEMs. The company is recognized for advancing the state of the art in computed tomography, digital radiography, ultrasound, magnetic resonance imaging, patient monitoring, cardiovascular information management, and embedded multiprocessing.
