Viisage names Bernard Bailey as replacement CEO
JULY 11--Viisage Technology Inc. (Littleton, MA; www.viisage.com), a developer of face-recognition technology, has appointed Bernard Bailey to CEO and president of the effective August 2002. Most recently, Bailey served as chief operating officer for Art Technology Group, a provider of on-line customer-relationship management solutions, where he was responsible for managing worldwide sales and services, corporate marketing, product management and product positioning.
Prior to joining ATG, Bailey spent more than 16 years in senior executive positions at IBM Corporation, where he was responsible for developing customer relationships and delivering systems integration and other services to the public sector marketplace. In addition to his corporate background, Bailey graduated from the United States Naval Academy and served as a Captain in the United States Naval Reserve. He holds an MS in engineering from the University of California at Berkeley, an MS in systems management from the University of Southern California, and an MBA from The George Washington University.
Fairchild Semiconductor appoints Brent Rowe vice president
Fairchild Semiconductor International (South Portland, ME; www.fairchildsemi.com), a global supplier of high-performance power products for multiple end markets, has appointed Brent Rowe to vice president of sales and marketing for Europe. Brent will report directly to Hans Wildenberg, Fairchild's executive vice president of worldwide sales and marketing.
Brent will be responsible for directing and growing Fairchild's business in Europe to increase market share gains with a focus on the ultraportable, industrial, and automotive markets as well as telecommunication and data communication segments, while penetrating new market opportunities with Fairchild's extensive power product offerings.
Brent has more than 16 years experience in the semiconductor industry in various engineering, marketing, business development, manufacturing, and management roles. Brent started his career at National Semiconductor, where he moved up the ranks to product line director in 1993 and held increasingly responsible management positions. Brent transitioned to Fairchild when the company was established in 1997.
Brent holds a BS chemical engineering, with an emphasis in semiconductor physics and processing, from the University of Illinois.
