MARCH 3--The 1394 Trade Association (Grapevine, TX;www.1394ta.org), a worldwide organization dedicated to the enhancement and proliferation of the 1394/FireWire audio-video standard, will hold its second-quarter 2003 general meetings in Shanghai, April 7 through 10. The meetings, which include active work group sessions, progress reports on audio-video, industrial, automotive, and other key advances, and general business, will be held at the Regal International East Asia Hotel. The host of the meeting is Elka International Ltd.
A special seminar session on the standard for Chinese company engineers and developers will be conducted April 10. The seminar will include discussion of applications, new developments, the benefits of the new 1394b version of the FireWire specification, and the role of 1394 in the emerging home network topology, among others. The seminar session will be open to the trade and general media and is cohosted by the China Electronics Standardization Institute.
