MARCH 4--FeinFocus (Stamford, CT), an award-winning global leader in high resolution x-ray inspection equipment, experienced 35% overall growth in 2002 over 2001, despite a downward trend in the industry. Incredibly, growth rates in Asia and North America were more than 60%. Bookings for the company's flagship products--T.I.G.E.R. and F.O.X. x-ray inspection systems--were up more than 100%.

FeinFocus introduced several new products during 2002, including the Multifocus Tube (MFT), which features three modes of operation: nanofocus, microfocus, and high power to accommodate a multiplicity of applications. MFT was developed to complement the FOX-160.25 system.

FeinFocus is headquartered in Garbsen, Germany, and exports 90% of its product sales. The company formed several important strategic alliances in 2002, including ones with Siemens Dematic, Palomar Technologies, and Georgia Tech.

In 2002, FeinFocus USA and feinfocus GmbH united to form feinfocus AG as the next logical step in the company's commitment to serving customers worldwide. Dieter Friedemann has been appointed as the new managing director of feinfocus GmbH and the newly founded AG, with other managing directors Alfred Reinhold and Lance Scott.
