JANUARY 20--Augusta Technologie AG (Frankfurt, Germany;www.alliedvisiontec.com) is selling its entire interests in its subsidiary Weinberger AG, a 100% daughter company of Augusta belonging to Allied Vision Technologies GmbH. The sale of Weinberger AG includes the latter's subsidiaries in Erlangen and Karlsruhe, Germany, and in the USA. The high-speed-camera-systems specialist was sold to Sertec Holding AG, a Swiss financial investor.

Augusta's decision to streamline its portfolio in its Sensor Systems division is based on the fact that Weinberger AG's core market--high-speed-camera systems--no longer ties in with the technology group's strategic focus. The aim now is to focus on the group's core competencies--components for the machine-vision market.
