JULY 24--Fairchild Imaging (Milpitas, CA;www.fairchildimaging.com), a manufacturer and developer of large-area CCD imaging sensors and cameras, has hired Stuart Singer as director of sales with primary responsibilities as product line manager and OEM sales of industrial cameras. He will report to William Walker, vice president, sales and marketing, and will be located in Huntington, NY.
Walker says, "The use of industrial cameras in machine vision and robotic applications continues to expand, even in these tough economic times. With Fairchild Imaging's experience in CCD technology, our recent acquisition of the former Pixel Devices CMOS image sensor technology from Agilent Technologies, and the hiring of Stu Singer, Fairchild Imaging is poised to serve this growing market."
Singer brings 24 years of optical and mechanical engineering experience with military and commercial applications to his new position. Recently, Singer was the technical director and OEM sales manager at Schneider Optics. There, he was responsible for the full line of machine and robotic vision systems. He earned a BS in physics from Hofstra University and finished his postgraduate studies at the University of Wisconsin.
