JULY 14--FANUC Robotics America Inc. (Rochester Hills, MI; www.fanucrobotics.com) is offering a visLOCi machine-vision package that provides 2- and 3-D robot guidance tools and a graphical environment that simplifies the integration of vision with a FANUC robot system. Designed for part location and orientation, visLOCi provides robotic process platforms for a variety of applications including machine load/unload, packaging, assembly, depalletizing, and flexible verification and measurement. Says Ed Roney, manager of vision product development for FANUC Robotics, "No software or application programming is required to handle even the most sophisticated robotic material handling and process verification applications."

The visLOCi vision package is based on the success of a range of vision products that FANUC Robotics offers. Compatible with the R-J2, R-J2 Mate, R-J3 and R-J3iB Controller platforms, visLOCi features a proven graphical environment that uses simple graphic icons for camera-to-robot calibration, part training and operation. Adjustable setup parameters can be set with simple input fields and selection buttons. For production, visLOCi includes a variety of run mode and operational features such as real-time saved image logging (both failed or all processed), database data logging, and runtime data charting.
