APRIL 10--Indigo Systems (Goleta, CA;www.indigosystems.com) has acquired the Applied Technology Division of Control Systems Research Inc. (Crestview, FL; www.csr-fl.com). The new company division, Indigo Advanced Systems (IAS), will remain based in Florida.

The core hardware and software engineers of the newly formed IAS division have developed acquisition, calibration, processing, and analysis software for high-performance infrared (IR) cameras for more than 15 years. Brian Cromwell, director of IAS, remarks, "Indigo's focal-plane-array manufacturing capability and IAS's camera application and radiometry experience make for an ideal marriage of technologies for the radiometric measurement community."

One of the products that transferred to Indigo under the acquisition is the Rtools software suite that addresses the requirements of scientists and researchers who need accurate radiometric measurements of dynamic phenomenon in rapidly changing environments. Prior to this acquisition, the RTools software toolkit has been used for several years by various military ranges on Indigo Systems' IR cameras.

Jeff Frank, Indigo Systems' vice president, director of business development, notes, "The decision to purchase the (IAS) division comes at a pivotal time of growth for Indigo Systems and creates an ideal partnering of IR sensor technology with software solutions for our family of infrared cameras and camera systems."
