APRIL 7--Imaging Research Inc. (St. Catharines, ON, Canada; www.imagingresearch.com) has unveiled Version 7.0 of its MCID Elite research image-analysis software. The company is a software and instrument developer that produces analytical imaging systems, screening systems, and bioinformatics software for life science research and pharmaceutical drug discovery.

Version 7.0 incorporates a new, contemporary user interface that includes an integrated file explorer with a drag-and-drop file functionality for ease of use. A convenient shortcut bar provides immediate access to operation windows and study types, and new dockable toolbars provide quick and convenient access to program controls. Individual toolbars and menu commands can be customized to users' needs. The software provides additional support for a variety of high-resolution digital cameras such as the Hamamatsu ORCA ER and ORCA II ER, the Cooke SensiCam and PixelFly, the Apogee KX1E, and also the Roper Cascade digital camera, and the Windows 2000/XP operating systems.
