Linos receives large optics order

APRIL 2--Linos AG (Goettingen, Germany; www.linos.de), a supplier of advanced optical systems, has signed a License- and Know-how Transfer and Supply of Hardware Agreement with a Turkish information and communications technology company. The contracting party is a multiproduct electronics company of Turkey that designs, develops, and manufactures electronic systems. Under the contract, Linos will deliver optical high-tech components, transfer expertise, and provide services such as training. In consideration, the customer will make payments to Linos totaling 30.6 million euros.

The payments will be made in installments in accordance with an agreed plan over a period of six years beginning at the effective date of the contract. The customer of Linos will also be entitled to manufacture optical components under license. The license fees are included in the total aggregate payments due. The contract will become effective after several export and credit conditions are fulfilled.
