e2v introduces low-light-level imager

FEBRUARY 7--e2v technologies (www.e2vtechnologies.com) has developed a low-light image sensor, the back-thinned CCD60. Commercially available in a 128 x 128-pixel format capable of up to 1000 frames per second, the back-thinned CCD60 features a quantum efficiency greater than 90% and read noise less than one electron.

The sensor is also available in e2v's L3C60B and BE cameras with frame rates to 500 Hz.
