JULY 24--Telegen Corp. (San Mateo, CA;www.telegendisplays.com) has completed construction and outfitting of its 5200-sq ft high-gain emissive-display (HGED) prototype manufacturing facility in Foster City, CA, and expects to start limited manufacturing activities shortly. Telegen plans to complete production engineering activities in this facility and to begin limited manufacturing of HGED flat-panel displays by year's end, to be followed by construction of a larger manufacturing facility next year.
The new facility is expected to produce limited sample quantities of 7- and 10.5-in.-diagonal front-view HGED displays by year's end and to allow Telegen to move quickly to commercialization of its patented HGED flat panel display. Telegen currently has been granted or applied for 26 US patents relating to key aspects of the HGED flat-panel-display technology, including advanced driver technologies, improved low-voltage light-emitting phosphors, enhanced electron-emission systems, display-sealing techniques, and low-cost manufacturing technologies.
