FEBRUARY 8, 2008--The Automated Imaging Association (AIA; Ann Arbor, MI, USA; www.machinevisiononline.org), the global trade association for the machine-vision industry, will again participate in an International Pavilion at the China International Machine Vision Exhibition, to be held March 20--22, 2008. Building on the success of the previous year's exhibition, the AIA is committed to helping its member companies reach the Chinese market.

New this year, the AIA will offer a special machine-vision fundamentals training session, led by Valerie Bolhouse, a renowned machine-vision expert and former staff technical specialist in machine vision with the Advanced Manufacturing Group at Ford Motor Company. Ms. Bolhouse is also the author of Fundamentals of Machine Vision.

One of the roadblocks to expanding the use of machine vision in China is the lack of education. "The AIA is happy to step in and facilitate basic machine-vision training in China. This supports our ongoing mission to promote the global use and understanding of the technology," said Dana Whalls, AIA managing director.
