JUNE 22, 2007--The 5th European Machine Vision Association (EMVA) Business Conference took place in Lyon, France, June 15 and 16, 2007. With more than 150 participants from 19 countries, the EMVA conference once again had a record number of attendees. The following countries were represented and made it a truly international event: Belgium, Canada, China, Germany, Denmark, Finland, France, Israel, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Sweden, Switzerland, Spain, Slovenia, Turkey, UK, and USA.

Thanks to cooperation with Club Vision of Symop (the French national machine vision association and EMVA member), major players in the French market were present, as well. Throughout the event, attendees benefited from ample networking opportunities, one of the primary goals of the conference.

Four sessions focused on machine vision in France, technology and business trends, as well as machine-vision markets. Attendees received firsthand information on vision markets in France, Japan, China, and Europe--all novel and previously unpublished.

The EMVA continues its dynamic growth course and currently has 97 members from 19 nations. Two new countries--Israel and Turkey--are now represented. The EMVA welcomed three new members during the conference: Infaimon SL (Spain), Univision srl (Italy), and EVT Eye Vision Technology GmbH (Germany).

The next EMVA conference will be held April 11 and 12, 2008, in Berlin, Germany. Another major EMVA networking event will take place in Stuttgart on the night before the start of VISION 2007: The 4th International Vision Night on 5 November 2007. More information will be available at www.emva.org.
