JUNE 11--In a recent meeting, the board of directors of the PC/104 Consortium (San Francisco, CA) elected its new officers for the 2004--2005 term. Tom Barnum of VersaLogic was elected chairman; Paul Rosenfeld of Ampro Computers and Basat Khalifa of Argon Technology were elected vice chairman and secretary/treasurer, respectively. The other board members are Jim Blazer of RTD Embedded Technologies, Robert Burckle of WinSystems, Stephen Newbegin of Kontron, Susan Wooley of Micro/sys, Doug Stead of Tri-M Systems & Engineering, and Troy Black of parvus.
Barnum has a clear set of goals for the consortium in the upcoming year. "I expect to refine our strategy and provide an outline of the course that lies ahead. It's time for a clear PC/104 roadmap for our future. It's time to take the vision that the board has established and articulate it to our friends in the press, our members, and our end users." He added, "It's time to invigorate the vendor community, increase their level of participation, and drive higher levels of membership, resulting in increased revenue for the consortium. I look forward to the contributions from fellow board members to achieve our objectives in the year ahead."
The PC/104 Consortium is an organization dedicated to the development and use of the PC/104, PC/104-Plus, and PCI-104 embedded architecture. The consortium maintains and distributes the specifications for each of the aforementioned standards worldwide. The consortium is approximately 100 members strong, representing international manufacturers of PC/104, PC/104-Plus, and PCI-104 products.
