APRIL 13--Free machine-vision training in now available at the new DVT Corporate Training Center in Singapore. Initial classes have been completely filled and the demand continues to build. The training center is located in office space in the M Hotel, a business hotel located in the heart of the Singapore Central Financial/Business District.

"Having this many people interested in training is a great problem to have," commented Wan Loong Lee, DVT director of business development in Singapore. "Training is the key to continued growth in our Southeast Asian markets. The strong response for training at our new facility indicates that we are making progress in tapping this market. Training is like planting seeds that will one day bear fruit," he added.

DVT Legend 540 and 542C machine-vision systems are used in the 500-sq ft training center. At present, the center is used primarily for DVT's four-day product training classes, but future uses will also include Impact Sales training and advanced product training. DVT Automation Solution Providers (ASPs) from Malaysia, Australia, Indonesia, and Singapore attended basic training in early April, and more are expected to come from throughout the region.

Prior to the new facility, DVT Trainer Patrick Seow conducted field training for ASPs in offices or in rented spaces. Limited availability of equipment and other factors pointed to a need for a separate, dedicated training facility. The new facility will make Seow's training much more accessible and effective.
