Specim recently introduced a new halogen illumination unit, the HI400S. The new light features a modular construction design so that it can be assembled in a row or side by side. It provides light in the VNIR to SWIR (400 to 2500nm) range and has a minimum distance to target of 300mm. Equipped with six 35-watt halogen bulbs, it has a 420 x 83 x 84mm footprint and weighs 1.5kg.

The HI400S is especially designed for machine vision applications that utilize hyperspectral imaging and require a robust light source across a variety of materials and conditions.
