David Heeger`s (heeger@white. stanford.edu) OBVIUS (Object-Based Vision and Image Understanding System) is based on Common Lisp and provides an interactive user interface for working with images and image sequences. The top level of OBVIUS is implemented in Common Lisp, providing an interpreted OOPs environment. The low-level floating-point operations are implemented in C. A GUI, based on menus and dialog boxes, is provided with the Lisp interpreter. The system provides a library of low-level image-processing routines including arithmetic operations, image statistics, geometric and matrix operations. OBVIUS runs on Sun and SGI workstations in Lucid v4.1 Common Lisp.
