AUGUST 8--Genesis Microchip (San Jose, CA; www.genesis-microchip.com) has shipped more than 3 million gmZAN1 LCD monitor controller chips--a company record. "We're delighted to reach this important milestone," said Amnon Fisher, Genesis Microchip president and CEO. Genesis has publicly announced the gmZAN1 in monitors from Fujitsu, LG, NEC, Samsung, Sharp, and Tatung--plus many other manufacturers who sell monitor subsystems to brand-name PC companies.

Introduced last year, the gmZAN1 LCD controller combines the company's patented algorithms and architectures to 'piece together' the best analog-interface technology Genesis has to offer. This includes Genesis's advanced scaling process and its proven 8-bit triple ADC. The gmZAN1 will support resolutions from SVGA to SXGA and serves the analog-interface market, the largest segment of the LCD monitor market.
