JULY 15, 2009--Coastal Optical Systems and Liebmann Optical Co. announce that effective July 1, 2009, the two Jenoptik (Jena, Germany; www.jenoptik.com) subsidiaries have merged to form Jenoptik Optical Systems Inc., located in Jupiter, FL, USA (www.jenoptik-inc.com).
The new company will have at its disposal 70,000 sq. ft. of optical manufacturing space and 100 employees.
Jenoptik acquired Liebmann in 1999. Since the acquisition of Coastal in 2002, the two subsidiaries have leveraged the optical component manufacturing capabilities of Liebmann Optical with the systems expertise of Coastal into a range of optical technologies.
Jenoptik Optical Systems will deliver services ranging from design and manufacture of prototype optical assemblies to high-volume component manufacturing for applications from UV through LWIR. Primary markets are life science research, defense, semiconductor manufacturing, digital projection, optical metrology, and astronomical research.
