MARCH 2--Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA) has announced that it will host a series of free DPM ID seminars. The Understanding Direct Part Mark Identification half-day events cover the most important factors to consider when implementing DPM ID for part traceability in the automotive, aerospace, health-care, electronics, and defense industries. Participants will learn how to implement a reliable DPM traceability program that includes marking, reading, verification, and process control. The program contains valuable information to help manufacturers achieve DPM ID requirements and traceability goals.

Participants are encouraged to bring sample parts and try out the new DataMan 7500 hand-held ID reader that reads all printed and DPM codes regardless of marking method, part material, shape, or surface texture. The seminars start this month and run through June in major US and Canadian cities. Readers can register for a seminar online at www.cognex.com/seminar or by calling (800) 677-2646.
