NOVEMBER 20--Cognex Corporation (Natick, MA; www.cognex.com), a supplier of machine-vision systems and intelligent sensors, has shipped its 200,000th machine-vision system. The system was purchased by AgentWare (www.agentwaresystems.com), a developer of real-time information access and process-management systems for the automotive industry. The system was presented to Agentware president and CEO Hal Popplewell at the Allen-Bradley Automation Fair on November 19.
AgentWare purchased the system as part of an order for multiple Cognex In-Sight vision sensors that AgentWare will integrate at a major automotive transmission-manufacturing complex in the Midwest. The Cognex vision sensors will be used for error proofing and analyzing production by automatically reading the 2-D codes that are marked directly on transmission components.
