Image sensors have high quantum efficiency

Jan. 4, 2008
High Quanta sensors are tailored for scientific, life sciences, and astronomy applications. Using fabrication techniques that realize smaller CCD transistor structures, the sensors achieve improvements in noise performance and quantum efficiency, peaking at more than 75%. Line currently includes three sensors with resolutions of 2084 × 2084, 1044 × 1044, and 524 × 524 pixels and feature a 24-µm size pixel.

The sensors also employ output amplifiers that provide very low noise at high data rates. For those applications demanding ultraviolet sensitivity and >90% QE, backside thinned devices will be available on a custom basis.
