Geodetic Systems Inc. renews alliance with GDV Systems GmbH
JULY 15--GDV Systems GmbH has agreed to market, distribute, and support Geodetic Systems Inc. (GSI; Melbourne, FL;www.geodetic.com) new INCA3 Camera and V-STARS photogrammetry systems in the German and Austrian industrial marketplace. The science of measurement is known as the field of metrology. Engineers, manufacturers, scientists, and quality-control technicians use measurement technology in their own disciplines. Photogrammetry is a three-dimensional (3-D) coordinate-measuring technique that uses photographs as the fundamental medium for metrology. GSI offers a comprehensive product line based on industrial photogrammetry.
GDV Systems (www.ddv-systems.de) is a subsidiary of GDV Ingenieurgesellschaft Holst--a metrology service provider in Bad Schwartau, Germany. Founded in 1986, GDV Ingenieurgesellschaft Holst was one of the first metrology service suppliers in Europe and was certified in ISO 9001 in 1997. GDV's metrology team offers industrial measurement services and consults on 3-D close range photogrammetry applications. GDV will work closely with GSI to further promote V-STARS product awareness and expansion in the European marketplace. The company will place emphasis on upgrading V-STARS systems with the new INCA3 digital photogrammetric camera, developed and released by GSI in 2004. The state-of-the-art INCA3 8Mp camera combines an ultrahigh-resolution CCD sensor with a powerful, compact industrial PC-based computer to accurately capture field measurements in harsh conditions and unstable environments.
