FEBRUARY 22--Braintech Inc. (North Vancouver, BC, Canada;www.braintech.com) has developed eVF, a universal develop, run, and support software environment, built from the ground up, for vision-guided robotics (VGR). eVF is made up of three major technologies: electronic support, vision science to solve imaging and guidance, and the software factory that delivers VGR solutions. By combining all three within a unified environment, Braintech offers manufacturers a standard for all of their VGR requirements.

The commercial-version release of eVF is the culmination of nearly two years of intensive design, development, and testing with multiple beta releases. This commercial version release also contains the company's Single Camera 3D (SC3D) technology. The eVF environment along with the SC3D technology is currently being used to deploy VGR systems recently sold to a major North American automaker.

CEO and director of Braintech Owen Jones states, "We plan on marketing eVF solutions under the brand Pathfinder-VGR. To date, the Pathfinder-VGR series includes parts handling and assembly; cutting and finishing; gluing and sealing; and inspection."
