Illuminators improve LCD resolution Operated by low-voltage constant or pulsewidth-moduled dc drives, solid-state red, green, and blue Alphalight illuminators can be individually color addressed at speeds to 100-ns on/off times. Illuminators improve LCD resolution Operated by low-voltage constant or pulsewidth-moduled dc drives, solid-state red, green, and blue Alphalight illuminators can be individually color addressed at speeds to 100-ns on/off times. An AMLCD dot-matrix array with color filters removed with its individual pixels multiplexed in coordination with Alphalight sequential color illuminators effectively produces fully saturated color video, graphics, and information displays to approximately 2500 fL. The produced light ranges from 470 to 660 nm with a luminance uniformity of ۭ%. Each illuminator pixel is used fully "filled" in during its on-cycle.
