AUGUST 29--DisplaySearch (Austin, TX; www.displaysearch.com), a leader in flat-panel-display market research and consulting, and Meko, a European display market research firm (www.meko.co.uk), have announced a new display conference in Europe on December 11 and 12, 2002. The two-day conference--DisplayForum 2002: New Displays - New Opportunities--will be held at Le Meridien Hotel in Nice, France. The conference will focus on new display opportunities for display makers and system makers. It will indicate how far panel and system prices are likely to fall in the current cycle and when prices are likely to rebound, leveraging DisplaySearch's supply/demand models.

Of particular interest will be the TV session, in which experts will present their views on how successful LCD TVs will be against CRTs and PDPs. The conference will also examine the market outlook for OLEDs, which are expected to enjoy dramatic growth over the next few years as a growing number of suppliers bring new production facilities online.

DisplaySearch and Meko analysts will present market overviews and forecasts by application and display technology. The keynote speakers will include an executive from a major TFT LCD manufacturer and a leader in the mobile-phone industry. The conference will also feature representatives from the European TV, mobile phone, desktop monitor, PDA, and notebook PC markets. There will also be a focus on OLEDs, which were originally developed in Europe and the U.S., and where many of the breakthrough developments are occurring. Speakers in the OLED session include executives from CDT, Kodak, Philips, and UDC. The conference will conclude with a panel debate.

An exhibit will be included, giving participating companies a chance to display their latest products and technologies, as well as providing networking opportunities for attendees.
